Gifted adults: Dr. Jane Piirto wins MERF Lifetime Achievement Award

Jane PiirtoThe Mensa Education & Research Foundation announces that it has presented Dr. Jane M. Piirto of Ashland, Ohio, with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

“When deciding who should be honored with the Award, we look for someone who has had an incredible impact on the intellectual community through his or her work in research, theory or other scholarly areas,” said Greg Timmers, Mensa Education & Research Foundation President.

“Over the years, Dr. Piirto has educated the public through a long list of publications related to education for the gifted. She’s contributed poetry, short stories, essays and has even published a novel. We are honored to present Dr. Piirto with this award.”

A faculty member at Ashland University since 1988, Dr. Piirto directs AU’s Talent Development Education (TDE) program. She teaches graduate courses… and teaches undergraduates in educational psychology and creativity.
